Just 2 random things that have been bugging me today:
1. Do not read ahead!!!
I have no willpower and so I read the epilogue in Undead and Unfinished by MaryJanice Davidson. I should not have done that. It wasn't so much that it was a spoiler but that it was one I didn't like. Curses! Now I only hope that the beginning and middle of the book will be more to my liking.
Sigh.
2. The Boot Gods hate me!!!!
That's right, Boot Gods! I am calling you out!
My favourite thrift store was having a sale! Everything was $1! Joy! I found a lovely filmy blouse but no pants. Thats ok, I have a lot of jeans. Too many.
But imagine my surprise at the shoe section; lovely, knee-high designer Italian boots in warm buttery soft camel leather and patent black with buckles and shiny things. Seven unique but oh so stylish pairs! With walkable heels and a touch of bad girliness. And joy of joy, they were all size 6.5! It is rare to find good shoes secondhand that fit my mini-feet. Everything else was size 9 (really, who has feet that large?).
Wild with anticipation I tried on all the pairs. I felt like Cinderella until I realized I could not zip them over my calves. I mean, come on! My calves are not huge. But no. Size 6.5 meant you must have stick-like legs. I always thought that my gams were curvy, Vampirella curvy. Due to all the walking and biking and general yardwork my legs are quite muscular (even after losing weight). But no, the fickle Gods of the Boot insist that all size 6.5's must be built like some starving Hungarian teenage model.
I settled for 2 pairs of ankle boots. No need to worry about pulling them over my gargantuan calves.
Oh, you'll get yours, fickle Boot Gods. I don't know how but you will.
